Theatre Royal Stratford East’s annual Musical Theatre Workshop has officially kicked off! We’re excited to host 15 artists from all areas working on 7 exciting new projects.
For the next two weeks the artists will have full access to the building and the artistic team as they work under the guidance of our two guest facilitators Fred Carl and Rob Lee, musical theatre specialist tutors from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Fred and Rob have been a part of the TRSE family and MTW since it’s inception in 1999.
We’ll leave each of the artists to talk about their individual projects, but at the end of the two weeks we’ll hold a private sharing on the TRSE stage where each group will present 10-15 minutes of their project in front of an invited audience for feedback. They’ll get to work with actors for two days before testing out the material.
We’re excited to welcome all of them to the building and can’t wait to see the exciting work they produce as we look toward the future of Musical Theatre in the UK.
